The Site & Background

St Joseph's Grammar School is a co-educational voluntary grammar school located on Castlecaulfield Road, Donaghmore. The school has experienced continued demand for places and requires additional accommodation to support its current and future educational needs.

The project forms part of the Department of Education's School Enhancement Programme, which supports improvements to existing school facilities. St Joseph's Grammar School was included within the second call of the School Enhancement Programme announced in May 2018.

A previous phase of investment delivered a new Sports Hall on the campus. The current proposals represent a further phase of development and are intended to address identified accommodation deficiencies within the school, including dining, library, teaching and sixth form facilities.

The proposed development seeks to provide modern educational accommodation which supports teaching, learning, study, recreation and wellbeing for pupils and staff while making efficient use of the existing school campus.

Why is the Development Needed?

The proposed development has been designed to address identified accommodation requirements within the school and provide modern facilities that support the delivery of education, student wellbeing and extracurricular activities. The proposals will improve dining provision, create new library and sixth form facilities, provide additional teaching accommodation and deliver a new 3G sports pitch for educational and sporting use.
